New Service Base opens in Aberdeen

Date Posted:  Monday, 22nd June 2009
We are pleased to announce the opening of a new service base in Dyce, Aberdeen.

Cyclotech has had a presence in Aberdeen since 1998 and recently made a decision to expand its support services operation based on trends in North Sea facility ownership which have changed from larger to smaller operators. Cyclotech’s core business of providing separation systems gives a detailed insight into how produced water treatment and sand handling operations are being managed under these new regimes.

Dr Alastair Sinker, Cyclotech’s Business Development Director explained “Our observations indicate there is a need in our market to provide more service oriented offerings, particularly to support smaller operators who are more reliant on external expertise to support their operations”.

Increased demand has been seen for services such as:
  • Spares holding agreements
  • Maintenance planning
  • Temporary rental treatment systems
  • Process trouble-shooting
  • Upgrades
  • Training
  • All encompassing “healthcare” arrangements
All of which serve to optimise system performance and minimize downtime. This has the benefit of optimizing production, reduce operating costs and enhancing environmental performance.

Under the management of Garry Simpson, the new service base in Dyce will provide support services in all these areas, housing rental assets, a wide range of critical spares and a team of trained service personnel. Garry commented, “We have two key objectives. The first is to establish support relationships with operators which allow them to manage the produced water and sand aspects of their facilities as efficiently as possible. And secondly, in those instances where rapid response is required, such as for spares or capacity expansion for example, that we are their first port of call”.
